Healthy Schools

We aim to encourage healthy eating by offering a variety of nutritious foods.  All school meals include carbohydrates, proteins and vegetables, the crucial elements of a nutritionally balanced diet – and children are taught the importance of each to a balanced diet, so they can make the right choices.
 

Please note, that the price of a child's lunchtime meal is £2 per day. Please ensure that you pay for your child's meal on the day they have it to avoid building up a debt.

We use Leicestershire School Food Support to ensure that our meals meet the school food standards.

Drinking Water

At Newcroft, we encourage the children to stay hydrated throughout the day. There are water fountains or water jugs and cups available in each classroom and at lunchtimes. Children are able to bring their own water bottle which is kept in the classroom. We encourage the bottles to be filled with water or sugar-free squash.
